L.A. Poker Classic $10k NL Hold'em

In 2003, Alan Goehring won the inaugural $25,000 buy-in WPT Championship to conclude Season 1 of the WPT. Now, nearing the end of Season 4, Goehring has again captured a WPT title by winning the L.A. Poker Classic this week.

Due to the number of celebrities who participate in this tournament, the L.A. Poker Classic has always been a popular stop on the WPT. Actor James Woods went deep in this event and finished 24th out of the 692 entrants to win $40,000. Goehring's first place finish netted him more than 2.3 million dollars. Daniel Quach also won more than a million for finishing second.

WSOP bracelet winners Allen Cunningham (36th), TJ Cloutier (41st), and Scotty Nguyen (45th) also finished in the money. The Travel Channel episode of this event will feature the final table of 6 players. Michael Woo, Steve Simmons, JC Tran, and Per Ummer will be the players featured in addition to Goehring and Quach.

Players will travel to Northern California for the next WPT Event, the Bay 101 Shooting Star, which will take place in San Jose early March.
