Bodog Poker Reality TV Show

Television, 2006-03-08, by TwoGun

Calvin Ayre, founder and CEO of Bodog Entertainment Group, is hosting a reality TV show dubbed 'Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker'. The purpose of his show is to discover the next poker superstar. Forty hopefuls will gather at the Bodog Compound in Costa Rica for a series of tournaments featuring cash prizes.

While half of the forty participants will be unknown online players, there are some high profile poker professionals and celebrities who will be vying for the cash prizes as well. Among these include Survivor's "Boston" Rob Mariano, Jennifer Tilly, Michael "the Grinder" Mizrachi, and Erick Lindgren.

Fox Sports Network will begin airing the show April 15th in the form of six episodes. The first five of these episodes will feature a winner-take-all $50,000 freeroll. The last episode will be a $500,000 freeroll open only the winners from the prior episodes. Bodog CEO Mr. Ayre hopes this show will "[mark] yet another progressive step in our journey toward becoming North America's premier digital entertainment company."
