PokerStars $1,050 Tournament Results
Online Tournaments, 2006-03-27, by TwoGun
Last Sunday PokerStars had their first of what is scheduled to be a quarterly $1,000+$50 one million guaranteed tournament. The prize pool far exceeded the guarantee when 1,523 entrants helped it break the million-and-a-half mark. The 2004 WSOP Champion Greg "Fossilman" Raymer dominated the field for much of the day but ultimately came up just short. Raymer won an impressive $183,000 for second place.
"E-Daddie", rumored to be the online handle of long-time poker pro Tommy Grimes, defeated Raymer heads up to win $295,000. None of the final table participants suggested making a deal, so the huge prize pool was split up as scheduled. The top four finishers in this tournament were Americans. The rest of the final table featured players from the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Norway, Canada, and Brazil.
