PokerStars Celebrates 5 Billionth Hand
Promotions, 2006-05-13, by TwoGun
PokerStars will soon be dealing their 5 billionth hand. Because of this occasion, the popular site is giving away more than a million dollars in cash as well as WSOP entries. Effective with their 4,930,000,000th hand up to their 5 billionth hand, there will be 33 "milestone" hands in which the participating players will receive an instant cash award of $2,000. The player who wins the hand will receive $5,000.
Anyone lucky enough to be sitting at the table that deals the 5 billionth hand will be instantly credited with $10,000. The winner of the 5 billionth will receive $50,000. Note that all of the cash prizes for participating in a milestone hand increase depending on what level the player has reached in PokerStars' VIP Club.
In addition to the cash prizes, a 500 Frequent Player Point (FPP) buy-in tournament will be held on Sunday May 28th. The top 9 finishers in this tournament will win WSOP packages. There will also be a $100,000 cash prize pool in this tournament. PokerStars is giving everyone the chance to accumulate 500 FPPs by doubling the rate by which FPPs are accumulated from May 12th through May 21st.
