2006 World Series of Poker Fast Approaching
WSOP, 2006-06-06, by Mercy
Every summer in Las Vegas the poker world gathers for the World Series of Poker. This summer will be no exception. The first event of the 2006 World Series of Poker begins on June 26th. Between then and August 10th, 45 events will shape new history in the world of tournament poker. New to this year's line-up, a $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Event is expected to quickly be recognized as one of poker's most prestigious tournaments.
Of course, the $10,000 no-limit hold'em championship event never fails to draw a crowd. This year Harrah's is prepared for up to 8,000 entrants in the Main Event. The anticipated first place prize will be a whopping 8-figures; $10,000,000. This tournament is scheduled to take an astounding two weeks to complete. There are also a healthy amount of $1,000-$2,500 buy-in no-limit events for anyone looking to get their feet wet without risking too much money. All of the events will be taking place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here is the complete schedule for this year's World Series of Poker.
