WSOP Circuit Event: Harrah's Lake Tahoe $10k NL Hold'em

WSOP, 2006-06-21, by TwoGun

Several months ago, Daniel Negreanu offered the world a chance to become his poker protégé. After an intense competition, Brian Fidler won the right to be taken under poker superstar Negreanu's wing. The package won by Fidler to become Negreanu's protégé entails entry to at least five major poker tournaments. After spending some time with Daniel playing golf and learning some insight into his poker game, Brian tore up his first live tournament.

The $10k WSOP Circuit Event in Lake Tahoe drew 110 entrants resulting in a $372,000 first place prize. Californian Clint Baskin outlasted the field to win this massive prize. Right behind him was the protégé Fidler who got his bankroll off to a great start with a $206,000 score.

This Circuit Event was the last of the 2005-2006 season. Next stop: the Rio in Las Vegas for the 2006 World Series of Poker.
