2006 WSOP Event #39: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship
WSOP, 2006-08-07, by Ozone
A grueling day of poker awaits the 45 remaining players in the WSOP Main Event. Today the participants will continue to cut away at each other. Most likely the field will require two more days of grueling poker before the final table of nine players remains.
The field of 45, largely full of unknowns, does have some familiar names left in the hunt:
Eric "Rizen" Lynch is 19th in chips with $1,940,000
Prahlad "Mahatma/Spirit Rock" Friedman is 23rd with $1,600,000
Allen Cunningham is 31st with $1,290,000
The battle for $12,000,000 continues at 12:00 PT in Las Vegas. This year's prize pool is so large that even 12th place will win more money than Scotty Nguyen earned following his 1998 Main Event victory.
