World Championships of Online Poker Start Today

Today marks the start of the World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) at PokerStars. The opening event, a $200+$15 Razz tournament, has drawn massive field of 1,297.

A total of 18 events will be played in this year's series. New to the schedule is a $5,000+$200 H.O.R.S.E. tournament. The series is concluded with a $2,500+$100 no-limit hold'em tournament that will take place on October 1st. This tournament will have a guaranteed prize pool of $3,000,000 and is considered by many to be the most important online poker tournament of the year.

PokerStars is giving away deposit bonuses to prompt players to participate in the WCOOP. Players who make their first time deposit at PokerStars will receive a 100% bonus up to $50 for entering "FirstSep2006" as the bonus code. Anyone who already has a real money account at PokerStars can receive a 20% bonus up to $120 for reloading their accounts. This reload bonus ends September 19th.

PokerStars does not accept real-money players from the United States.
