Biggest Yearly Online Tournament Approaching
Online Tournaments, 2006-09-28, by Ozone
The largest annual online tournament will be held this Sunday at PokerStars. The tournament is a $2,500+$100 buy-in no-limit hold'em event which concludes the World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) each year. This year's guaranteed prize pool is $3,000,000. That means the tournament will need to draw 1,200 players to avoid an overlay.
Expect the tournament to draw far more than 1,200. Last year 1,494 hopefuls showed up for this event. In the end, 3 players made a deal that left them all with close to $550,000. Panella86 was the champion of the event.
The tournament starts at 4:30 pm ET on Sunday. Satellites are running around the clock at PokerStars.
