After the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), many major online gambling firms were devastated due to their decision to no longer accept US players. Both Party Gaming, which owns Party Poker, and 888, which owns Pacific Poker, lost many players due to this decision.
