Ladbrokes recently confirmed that is considering acquiring 888, one of the larger online gambling companies. 888 owns Pacific Poker as well as Casino-on-Net.
The expected takeover price would be about £450m. The discussions are still at the very early stages. However, now that the focus is on a Ladbrokes takeover of 888, a merger between Party Gaming and 888 seems unlikely.
