Michael Mizrachi Wins 2006 Player of the Year Honors

With unprecedented dominance, Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi locked up 2006 Player of the Year honors today. John Hoang, the only player left with a chance to over for take Mizrachi, was eliminated from the final major poker tournament of the year this afternoon. The Grinder won seven major tournaments, finished at 31 final tables, and cashed for more than $2.5 million during his phenomenal year of play.

Nam Le finished runner-up to Mizrachi. Phil Hellmuth's impressive run at the WSOP earned him 10th place on the POY list.
