Expensive Poker Artwork

, 2005-02-17, by TwoGun

A Bold Bluff, an image of a poker game played by five dogs, is a relatively famous painting. Cassius Marcellus Coolidge painted the famous image that has been reproduced a countless number of times. Recently, A Bold Bluff and another Coolidge painting, Waterloo, went up for auction. While A Bold Bluff pictures five pooches vying for a pot, Waterloo displays a St. Bernard collecting a pot. The two paintings collectively sold for $590,4000, which was a much higher price than most people anticipated. For more information, check out this Houston Chronicle Article.
