EPT Season #3: Dortmund, Germany €5,000 No-Limit Hold'em

A record size field turned up at the European Poker Tour's first event ever held in Germany. Casino Hohensyburg in Dortmund played host to a 493 player field, thirteen players larger than the EPT's previously biggest tournament. Germany was represented by two players at the final table, including Sebastian Ruthenberg who finished in 3rd place.

Andreas Hoivold from Norway won €672,000 for first place. Italian player Christiano Blanco made his first cash in a major poker tournament to the sum of €380,000 for second place. High stakes cash game player Johnny Lodden finished in 13th place and won €20,900.

The European Poker Tour's next event starts this week in Warsaw, Poland. Later this month the tour's championship event will be held in Monte Carlo.
