LA Poker Classic Results

, 2005-02-25, by vitaltilt

The final day of the 2005 LA Poker Classic started with just 6 players out of the initial 538 entrants. At the start of the WPT televised event, Michael Mizrachi (known as The Grinder in the online poker community) held a steady chip lead. Mizrachi maintained the chip lead until heads-up action against Haralabos Voulgaris (started the day in 4th position). However, Mizrachi soon surrendered his chip lead, only to grind his way back and win it all. Mizrachi is a young online pro who is steadily showing his skill in the major, live tournaments. Mizrachi will take home over $1.8 million for first place, while Voulgaris wins $900k for second place. The 2005 LA Poker Classic took place at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles and the final table will be televised as a WPT event on the Travel Channel.
