"Lucky You" Tanks In Box Office

The long-awaited poker movie "Lucky You" hit theaters last weekend. By industry standards, it was a huge failure. Combining poker action with a romantic storyline, the movie features cameo appearances from over a dozen poker professionals including Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreau, and Mike Matusow. For the weekend, "Lucky You" made a paltry 2.5 million in box office sales putting it in sixth place.

Also opening last weekend was Spiderman 3. The superhero's latest adventure is at least partially responsible for Lucky You's poor showing. It crushed opening-weekend records by generating an astounding $148 million in box office sales.
