Bay 101 Shooting Stars

The weeklong Bay 101 Shooting Stars Tournament ended with the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Holdem event. The final table will be televised on the World Poker Tour (WPT), and the wild and aggressive final table will be worth the viewing. However, for those unwilling to wait for the final results, read on:

The final table of 6 survived from an initial entrant pool of 438 players. At the final table, virtually every facet of poker player was represented. Many must have hoped for a duel between Gus Hansen and Men "The Master" Nguyen, two aggressive professionals. However, at this final table, the most aggressive player was local dealer Danny Nguyen. Two players at the final table, Corey Cheresnick and Jay Martens, earned their bids to the event through satellites on Paradise Poker. Rounding out the final table was local high-stakes player Shandor Szentkuti. In the end, the risky (and lucky) dealer outlasted the pros and online amateurs to take first place. With a prize pool over $4 million, Danny Nguyen took home $1,025,000 for first and Jay Martens took $600,000 for second.
