WPT Season #6: Legends of Poker $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em

WPT, 2007-08-31, by Ozone

Dan Harrington, 1995 World Champion and author of the famed "Harrington on Hold'em" series, notched his first career WPT victory this week. The 2007 Legends of Poker tournament drew 485 players to Los Angeles. This was the first major poker tournament since the WSOP. For conquering the field, Harrington tacked on $1,600,000 to his impressive career winnings. That payday was $600,000 more than he received for winning the 1995 World Championship.

In addition to $800,000 for 2nd place, David Pham also overtook J.C. Tran and now leads the Player of the Year standings. Tom Schneider, who won two bracelets at this year's WSOP, continued his impressive summer with a 4th place finish good for $228,000. Joe Sebok missed the TV bubble by one spot; he finished 7th to win $114,000. This was the second time in Sebok's career that he finished 7th in an open WPT event.

The WPT's next stop is Atlantic City for next month's Borgata Poker Open.
