Titan Poker Gets Creative To Fill Two Freeroll Seats

Promotions, 2007-10-01, by Ozone

In March, we hypothesized that Titan Poker might have a hard time filling the two remaining seats in their $1,000,000 freeroll. Several months later, Titan Poker apparently came to the same conclusion and conjured a remedy.

Two points races, one already underway (September 9th to October 31st), and another yet to start (November 1st to December 5th), will award the winners with a seat to the Tournament Titan. To participate, one must be a member of Titan Poker's VIP program with a ranking of Gold or higher. From there, whoever simply collects the most Titan Points during the specified qualifying windows receives a seat in the Tournament Titan.

Only 20 players will participate in this $1,000,000 freeroll. Eighteen players have already qualified through the initially prescribed measures: finishing at three consecutive final tables from a limited selection of tournaments. Since the release of this promotion, Titan Poker has grown considerably in size. The field sizes in their tournaments are now too large to ever reasonably expect someone to finish at three straight final tables.

The Tournament Titan will take place on December 8th at 15:00 GMT, well over a year after the promotion was launched. This will be one of the juiciest freerolls in online poker history. Even the 20th place finisher wins $25,000. First place is valued at $200,000; it has a cash value of $188,000 but includes a package to the 2008 WSOP worth $12,000.
