Atlantic City Poker Dispute Ends In Bloodshed
Oddities, 2008-04-08, by Ozone
An argument that originated in the poker room of Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal Resort ended in a stabbing death on the property's parking lot. The victim, 61-year-old Arthur Prince, was pronounced dead at 4:05 p.m. on Saturday, roughly one hour after a stab wound to the cheek severed a carotid artery which caused him to bleed to death.
Being held for the offense is 57-year-old Vincente Perez. His bail was set at $500,000 while he awaits proceedings for the charge of aggravated manslaughter.
The incident escalated over an argument involving a seat in a $1/$2 no-limit game. The seat had been occupied by one player, but was given to the other while the first player left to retrieve more money.
