WSOP Circuit: New Orleans $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em

WSOP, 2008-05-21, by Ozone

This week, New Orleans played host to the final WSOP Circuit event of the 2007-2008 season. Now, nothing remains on the WSOP docket before the main festivities begin in Las Vegas on May 30th with a $10,000 buy-in pot-limit hold'em event.

Poker newcomer Nick Ceci overcame long odds to win the New Orleans championship and a cool $382,000. Before this tournament, Ceci had just one cash on his live tournament record: a $8,000 score in one of this series' preliminary events.

Tim Miles finished second to win $210,000. Last year's champion Lou Esposito made a valiant run at a repeat, but ultimately flamed out in sixth place ($59,000).

Another notable player who finished in the money was WPT Season Six Player of the Year Jonathan Little (18th - $9,500). PokerTips.org was also well represented in this tournament: site operators Ozone and TwoGun finished 15th and 25th, respectively.
