Olympian Michael Phelps Wants To Try WSOP

Celebrities, 2008-08-19, by Ozone

American swimmer Michael Phelps has gained international recognition lately thanks to his dazzling feat of winning eight gold medals in eight events at the Summer Olympics in Beijing. However, it seems Phelps' thirst for gold is not yet quenched. In an interview with his hometown newspaper, the Baltimore Sun, Phelps told them that he thinks, "it would be cool to play in the World Series of Poker."

In what little free time Phelps has away from his training regimen, playing poker with friends is one of his hobbies. "My game is a little off right now, so I'll have to start improving it a little bit. But I think that would be cool, and it would be cool to meet some of those poker guys."

No doubt "those poker guys" feel the exact same way towards Phelps. His unparalleled performance at this year's Olympics will likely result in tens of millions in endorsement dollars.
