2009 WSOP Will Feature More Chips, Better Structure
WSOP, 2009-03-10, by Ozone
The 2009 WSOP will feature an unprecedented structure for its events. Tournament director Jack Effel announced that players will receive 3x the buy-in as a starting stack for all events. In recent years, the starting stack has been just 2x the buy-in, and not long ago, it simply matched the buy-in.
Additionally, levels have been added to most events to give more playing time deeper in the tournament. For example, $1,500 buy-in events will now have a 75-150 level and a 1,200-2,400 level.
The structure for the Main Event remains the same, but players will receive 30,000 starting chips this year.
