2009 WSOP Update: Event #44

WSOP, 2009-06-25, by Ozone

No one can claim to be having a better World Series of Poker than Jeff Lisandro. The well-tenured Italian pro captured his third bracelet of the year recently in the $2,500 Razz event. This made him the first person since Phil Ivey in 2002 to win three bracelets in one year.

What makes Lisandro's trifecta especially impressive is that he won a bracelet in each of the three major Stud variants: Stud, Stud Hi/Lo, and Razz. Last week, he won the $10,000 buy-in Stud Hi/Lo World Championship. Earlier in the series he won a $1,500 buy-in Stud tournament.

In addition to the three bracelet wins, Lisandro has three other cashes including a 9th place finish in the $10,000 Stud World Championship. There is no doubt that Lisandro is the "Stud" of the 2009 WSOP!
