Federal Grand Jury Investigates Full Tilt Poker

Law, 2010-04-05, by Ozone

The Financial Times is reporting that a federal grand jury in Manhattan is investigating whether Full Tilt Poker has broken federal money laundering charges. The investigation could bring indictments against individuals associated with Full Tilt, most notably Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson, who were named as owners of the company in a civil lawsuit last year.

According to the Financial Times article, money laundering charges might be attractive to the government as they could compel co-operation from countries where gambling is legal.

Subpoenas issued in the case assert that online gambling is illegal in the U.S.
