2010 WSOP Event #37: $3,000 HORSE
Bonuses, 2010-06-22, by Ozone
For the second year in a row, Phil Ivey has managed to turn all of the focus at the WSOP on him. He won Event #37, a $3,000 HORSE event that started with 478 players. Along with his 8th career bracelet, Ivey netted $327,000 and likely quite a lot more through side bets he had on himself to win a bracelet this year.
Last year, Ivey won two bracelets before making the final table in the Main Event where he eventually finished 7th.
To capture his 8th bracelet, Ivey had to navigate through other multiple bracelet winners at the final table including Bill Chen (2nd), John Juanda (3rd), and 2009 WSOP Player of the Year Jeffrey Lisandro (5th).
With this win, Ivey joins Erik Seidel as the only 8 time bracelet winners. Ahead of them are Johnny Moss with 9, Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan with 10 apiece, and Phil Hellmuth with 11.
