2010 WSOP Event #57: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship
WSOP, 2010-07-09, by Ozone
The four "day 1s" of the WSOP Main Event have concluded. The number of participants in this year's World Championship is 7,319, nearly a 13% increase from the 6,494 who played last year.
However, this news should not necessarily be interpreted as a growth in poker. Last year, several hundred players were shut-out from their attempts to register for the Main Event on the final starting day which significantly deflated the number of participants.
This year's field of 7,319 will be playing for a first-place prize of just under $9,000,000.
