2011 WSOP Schedule Released

WSOP, 2011-01-25, by Ozone

The 2011 WSOP schedule has been released. It features a record 58 bracelet events. Despite rumors to the contrary, the 2011 WSOP will return to the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. It was thought that Caesars Entertainment would sell that property and move the WSOP to another location, but that appears to be a distant possibility for this year.

Festivities begin on May 31st with the $500 buy-in Casino Employees event. That same day, a $25,000 heads-up championship, which is new to this year's schedule, will also take place.

The $50,000 Player's Championship, which was at the beginning of last year's schedule, has been moved near the end. It begins on July 2nd. Five days later, the first of four Main Event starting days commences.

Last year, a $25,000 six-handed no-limit championship was held. The buy-in for that event has been reduced to $10,000 for 2011.

Those changes aside, the 2011 WSOP schedule is basically very similar to last year's.
