Gold-Pay Ends Payment Processing Services

Online Poker, 2011-02-08, by Ozone

Users of the payment processor Gold-Pay were informed in an email recently that the company is closing its doors due to legal issues in the U.S. In the email, the company stated that they have been, "forced to suspend all gaming related transactions."

The site allowed online gamblers to purchase gold to use as a medium for transactions with online gaming sites. Although it was only online for a few months, Gold-Pay gained a lot of market share through the unique approach.

This news comes less than three months after U.S. authorities shut down the major payment processor eWalletXpress. These recent maneuvers on the part of the DOJ are a sign that the U.S. is still aggressively pursuing an agenda against online gaming.
