Mirage, Las Vegas

Submitted by: Ozone

The invitation-only Pro Poker Tour (PPT) recently held a $500,000 freeroll at the Mirage in Las Vegas. There were 174 entries in the event, hoping to get their hands on the $200,000 first place prize, as well as the $25,000 WPT Championship Seat that came along with it. One day after finishing 2nd in the WPT event at the Mirage, Ted Forrest showed up at the PPT final table and defeated the competition to earn another tournament victory. Only the top 6 finishers receive money in this freeroll. Randy Jensen was 2nd ($100,000), David Levi 3rd ($60,000), Tom Franklin 4th ($45,000), Chris Tsiprailidis 5th ($30,000), and Blair Rodman finished 6th earning $25,000.

Ted Forrest has been on an amazing run as of late. Since winning two bracelets at the WSOP last year (one in NL Holdem and one in Seven Card Stud), Forrest has made 2 WPT final tables and capped it all off by scoring this victory in the PPT. All of this has to make Forrest an early favorite for Player of the Year honors at the 2005 World Series of Poker, which commences in a week.
