Epic Poker League Main Event #2: $20,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Tournaments, 2011-09-11, by Ozone

The second Epic Poker League (EPL) Main Event was held last week at Palms in Las Vegas. The first running of the members-only league attracted 137 entrants. Even with $400,000 added to the prize pool, just 97 players participated in the second event due to WPT Paris luring some away.

Canadian poker prodigy Mike McDonald topped the small field for a $782,000 payday. The win gives McDonald $3.6 million in lifetime winnings in live tournaments. Not bad for a 21 year old.

The rest of the eight-handed final table finished as follows:

2nd: David Steicke - $506,000
3rd: Fabrice Soulier - $299,000
4th: Erik Seidel - $184,000
5th: Nam Le - $126,000
6th: Isaac Baron - $92,000
7th: Sean Getzwiller - $69,000
8th: Dutch Boyd - $57,000
