Epic Poker League Season One Tournament Series Three: $20,000 Mix-Max No-Limit Hold'em

Tournaments, 2011-12-20, by Ozone

After a 15 hour long final table, Chris Klondnicki emerged as the newest Epic Poker League (EPL) Champion. The unique structure required players to play a best-of-three heads-up match. In the first two rounds, they would start with the same number of chips they reached heads-up play with. If a third round was needed, they would start with even chip stacks.

Klodnicki brought a lead of 3.5 million in chips versus Andrew Lichtenberger's 1.5 million. He would not need a third round of heads-up play to finish off "luckychewy" who pocketed $514,000 for second.

Joe Tehan finished in third place winning $306,000 for his efforts. Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi took fourth for $174,000.

The steep $20,000 buy-in in a field of tough players still lured 100 participants thanks to a sum of $400,000 which was added to the prize pool. The next EPL Main Event takes place on February 9th from the Palms Casino in Las Vegas.
