Nikolay Evdakov Passes Away at 47
International, 2012-02-07, by Ozone
Russian poker pro Nikolay Evdakov passed away yesterday at the age of 47. The death announcement was made by his wife on the cgm.ru Russian poker forums. His cause of death is currently unknown.
Evdakov set a record at the 2008 WSOP with 10 cashes. The previous record for most cashes in a single WSOP was eight held by Michael Binger, Chad Brown, Phil Hellmuth, and Humberto Brenes. Evdakov failed to reach a final table in any of those 10 cashes.
In 2010, the Russian finished 4th in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship at the WSOP for $110,000. Last summer, he placed 7th in the $25,000 no-limit heads-up championship for $138,000.
His funeral will be held tomorrow in Moscow.
