AARP Article

, 2005-06-10, by TwoGun

A testament to the explosive growth of poker is the amount of articles written about it in mainstream media. Recently, an Article in AARP Magazine was written about poker. The author of the article, Richard Lederer, has an especially close connection to poker because two of his children, Annie Duke and Howard Lederer, are two of the most well-known poker professionals in the world.

Lederer mentions the reasons Howard and Annie began their poker careers. The article also extolls the virtues of poker. It argues that playing poker helps people stay "mentally fit" because it exercises the brain.

Richard Lederer also mentions that women may be better natural card players than men. This is because women tend to be better able to read people than men.

Another article on the AARP website gives beginner and advanced tips for poker.
