2005 WSOP Event #21: $2,500 Omaha Hi/Lo Split

Many know Todd Brunson as the 35 year old poker playing son of legendary Doyle Brunson. After Event #21, some will see Todd in a different light. Already an accomplished poker professional, Todd finally got the monkey off of his back by winning a WSOP bracelet, the first of his career.

The victory makes Doyle and Todd Brunson the first father-son WSOP bracelet winners in history. Along with his first bracelet, Todd was given $255,945 for the victory.

The event saw 359 entries for the game that some have ticketed as the "game of the future", Omaha Hi/Lo. Already a WSOP champion, Tom Fischer came up a little short of winning another bracelet but earned $66,055 for finishing in 3rd place.

Other pros "in the money" include Juan Carlos Mortensen and Scotty Nguyen. The final Omaha Hi/Lo event of the 2005 WSOP is the $5,000 buy-in championship event on June 30th.
