2005 WSOP Event #30: $1,500 7 Card Razz
, 2005-07-05, by Mercy
Submitted by: Ozone
The 2004 Razz event was full of superstars of the poker world, and T.J. Cloutier beat fan-favorite Dutch Boyd heads up for the win. This year, the final table of the Razz event was much less star-studded.
Seventy-one year old O'Neil Longson won his 3nd career gold bracelet and $125,690. Frenchman Bruno Fitoussi finished 2nd and earned $70,275. Mike Wattel, already with one final table appearance this year, finished 5th. Pro player Blair Rodman was knocked out in 10th for his highest finish of this year's WSOP.
This was the first and last Razz event of the 2005 WSOP. Most consider it a dying game, yet a new Razz-record was set in this tournament with 291 players participating.
