2005 WSOP Event #36: $3,000 Limit Holdem

, 2005-07-10, by Mercy

Tournament poker involves a lot of luck. Defeating a field of hundreds or thousands of players requires being dealt extraodinary hands that most people only rarely see.

For this reason, it is very difficult for players to place at the final table a majority of the times they enter a tournament. In fact, even the best players generally just lose their buy-in and do not win any money for most tournaments they enter.

Recently, Todd Wittles set a precedent that will be very difficult to beat. Wittles placed third at Event #4, his first WSOP event of his life. He won a little over $115,000 in this $1,500 Limit Holdem event.

Event #36 was the second WSOP tournament of Wittle's life. This time, he not only placed at the final table but took home the gold bracelet.
