The devestating effects of Hurricane Katrina have prompted relief efforts from a wide variety of sources, including online poker rooms.
Party Poker is hosting a special $30+$0 tournament where 90% of the prize pool will be donated to charity. Party Poker will also donate a sum equal to the amount of the prize pool to hurricane relief efforts.
For example, if 1000 people enter this tournament, $27,000 from the prize pool will be donated to hurricane relief and $3,000 will be available for the winners of the tournament. Party Poker would also donate $30,000 to charity, so $57,000 in total would be sent to charities that help those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
