$100 Million Dollar Tournament Update

, 2005-10-20, by TwoGun

Noble Poker will be sponsoring a large, land-based poker tournament in Las Vegas in 2006. Like many large poker tournaments, it will have a $10,000 buy-in.

However, unlike any other major poker tournament, there is the potential for up to a $100 million jackpot prize. At the final table, if someone hits a royal flush of spades, that person will win $100 million. Other prizes will also be given out if other exotic hands hit the board. For example, any other royal flush pays $1 million, any other straight flush pays $750,000, and quad aces or kings pays $500,000. The $100 million jackpot prize is reinsured by National Indemnity Company, which is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway BRK-B.

The tournament still does not have a set date, but qualifiers are beginning at Noble Poker for this tournament.

Recently, Noble Poker enlisted Matt Savage, former director of the WSOP, to oversee this event. This may further bring more media attention to this tournament.
