November Online Poker Promotions
THE WEEKLY SHUFFLE, 2011-10-30, by OzoneA new month is nearly upon us which usually means online poker rooms are rolling out new promotions. Here are some upcoming online poker room promotions worth a look.
Party Poker's World Domination
Starting on November 7th, Party Poker is giving away freeroll seats, cash prizes, and a grand prize of $100,000 through their World Domination Promotion. The premise is pretty simple. Every time you collect 10 Party Points, you'll be randomly awarded one of 72 different cities. Many cities come with an instant prize (for example: if you get Berlin, you get $20). If you collect every city in a specific country there are also prizes (for example, collect all four locations in Germany and you get $400). There are also prizes for collecting every city in a continent (collect each city in Europe and you get $20,000). Finally, if you collect all 72 of the cities, you get an extra $100,000 cash prize.
Nine freerolls with prize pools ranging from $1k to $10k will be held during the first week of 2012. Entries to these freerolls are given out as prizes along with specific cities (for example, if you get Miami, you get entry to the $5,000 freeroll).
Party Poker lets you collect as many as 100 cities in a single day. Your first city will be awarded after collecting just 5 Party Points. There are exactly four cities for every country included in the game. There are seven European countries, three countries each from South America, North America and Asia, and two countries represented from the Oceania region.
Like many of Party Poker's promotions, this is basically just a glorified form of rakeback. But at least it's more fun and more variable than a standard rakeback promotion.
The World Domination promotion ends at the end of the year or when all of the cities have been given away.
Titan Poker's Over The Limit
Limit hold'em players good reason to take their business to Titan Poker from October 31st to December 11th. In that time frame, the site is giving away $100,000 in cash prizes and tournament tokens based on leaderboards that track the players who play the most raked hands.
The promotion will run in three cycles of two weeks each. Each cycle will have four leaderboards that rank players by their raked hands in limit hold'em by stake.
The $0.01-$0.02 up to $0.25-$0.50 leaderboards pay the top 200 finishers.
The $0.50-$1 up to $2-$4 leaderboards pay the top 100 players.
The $3-$6 up to $10-$20 leaderboards pay 60 players.
The $20-$40 and higher leaderboards have 40 cash payouts.
The first place prize on any of these leaderboards ranges from $200 up to $1,000. The top 400 players on all leaderboards will receive a seat into a freeroll where the top 50 finishers win a $100+$9 seat to the Limit Hold'em Grand $15k.
Like the Party Poker promotion above, this is basically just a glorified form of rakeback exclusively for limit hold'em players.
